Lyrical genius, Kendrick Lamar created the first hip hop/rap album to ever win a Pulitzer Prize for his album ‘DAMN.’ His raw passion and talent describes the joys and the struggles of living while battling his own demons as he survives in the world as a Black man. ‘DAMN’ was personally one of my most listened to album of 2017. Every song illustrated a type of artistic passion and beauty that resonated deeply with me. It simply sucks you in, inviting you to listen and go beyond the beat. The poetry in his lyrics is truly incredible. I was hooked from the first line “I got loyalty, got royalty inside my DNA.” I have been a fan of Kendrick’s phenomenal work since his debut album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. He is a true hero to the culture and I created this in his honor.
